Summit Guide transforms good counselors into great counselors. Built on the principles of Strategy Guidemap’s flagship Grow Your Business event, it condenses strategic growth principles into a focused two-hour session tailored for business coaches, advisors, counselors, consultants, instructors, and mentors. An expanded 4-hour version is also available and particulalry useful if attendees have not previously attended the Grow Your Business masterclass.  Summit Guide equips business counseling professionals to effectively engage clients with strategic growth concepts that accelerate their business growth.  Business Strategy Advisor Certification is offered at no additional charge to those who complete the training.

Because it is offered online,  a virtual event work well if your network of counselors/trainers are not located in the same area.

In 30 minutes, Strategy First, which is available online or as a face-to-face event, clarifies what strategy is and is not.  Participants see how putting strategy first will enhance growth efforts.  The concepts in Strategy First are simple, yet when applied, they help put small businesses on the right path for success.  Although it is good as a stand alone event, Strategy First serves as an introduction to the concepts taught in other training programs from Strategy Guidemap.

When you sponsor an event, the event is priced at Strategy Guide Map’s standard rate, participants pay that fee, and Strategy Guide Map retains all revenue. Sponsors receive discount codes to share with businesses, reducing the cost for attendees while keeping the process simple and low-cost for the sponsoring organization.

Most organization that offers services in support of small businesses will find Strategy Guidemap services valuable.  Because the training is strategy-focused it supports, not competes with, tactical type training and counseling (i.e. business planning, marketing, financial management, etc.)

Common organizations include:

  • Grow Your Business Masterclass (4 hours) – accelerates growth for any business type 
  • Growth Marketing (2 hours) – applies growth strategy specifically to marketing efforts 
  • Trailhead Training (2 hours) – Puts "strategy" in stategic planning. Ideally it preceeds a company's strategic planning efforts (makes a great tone-setter for planning retreats) 
  • Summit Guide Training (2 or 4 hours) – transforms counselors, coaches, and advisors by showing them how to incorporating principles of strategy into the counseling they offer clients

  • Choose to sponsor when your organization has a tighter budget but still wants to offer valuable training. Sponsoring requires less financial commitment and provides discount codes, though attendees typically pay a higher rate than a hosted event.

A minimum of 6–8 weeks is recommended for both hosted and sponsored events to allow sufficient marketing and maximize registration.

Hosts may collect fees directly, or Strategy Guide Map can manage registration and fee collection. If Strategy Guide Map collects fees, the full amount (minus any payment-processing fees) is paid to the host after the event.


  • All participants are eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion. 
  • Business advisors who complete Grow Your Business Masterclass may take a post-training assessment to earn the third-party Business Strategy Advisor Certification (certificate + digital badge). 
  • All completers of Summit Guide Training automatically receive the Business Strategy Advisor Certification.

Co-branding allows SBDC offices, consulting firms, marketing agencies, accounting practices, economic development organizations, and similar entities to add a revenue-generating training service to their offerings at zero upfront cost. As a co-brand partner you:

  • Recommend Strategy Guide Map training to your clients as if it were your own service
  • Earn 20% of all fee revenue from company-specific (hosted) trainings you refer and from any larger public events your organization arranges
  • Receive free marketing support, including a co-branded page on the Strategy Guide Map website and digital assets

Strategy Guide Map delivers turnkey training; the only potential cost is custom-printed materials bearing your logo (optional).
